Here are pictures of our house. Rodney went today for our home inspection and it passed. Yay!! The first image is the living room looking towards the front door. The second image is the garage. There were already shelves built into the garage that Rodney was a fan of. The third image is the front of the house. The fourth image is our side yard looking out towards the cemetery. If you look close you can see the giant Jesus statue. I thought that was a cool thing to greet Jesus every time we come home. We also live next to a church. The fifth image is the master bathroom (looking into a mirror). The sixth image is the master bedroom. The seventh image is the other bathroom upstairs. The next image is the half bath that is downstairs. And the ninth image is the living room. We don't have pictures of the kitchen but it is off of the living room, and the first floor is very open. The kitchen also has one of those fridges that has two a long freezer on one side and the other side is the fridge. I hope this all makes sense!! We are closing on May 30, so it will be ours after that.

Welcome!
Rodney and I would like to welcome everybody that is joining us after receiving their invitations. We will add more to the blog the closer we get to the wedding. The pictures I included are of Rodney and goUSA, my parent's dog, Rodney and I at a wedding reception, and Carrie, Baylor, and I. Carrie used to teach with me, but she had to move to Tennessee. Baylor is her cute little boy! We will be in Ohio from about June 25-July 20. If you are sending presents then please send them to my parent's house 17ow Terrawenda Defiance, Oh 43512. This way we do not have to worry about items sitting at our apartment for a while and might get lost or stolen. We wanted to remind everybody that the hotel we have reserved rooms at is the Holiday Inn. Rodney also wanted me to tell people to not make reservations with Skybus.

Hey everybody! We have done a lot wedding-wise so I thought I would update everybody. This past weekend we went to Defiance. We flew Skybus, which was interesting, and I wasn't surprised to read today that they filed bankruptcy. On Sunday we did an Engaged Couples Retreat at church. We talked about spirituality, Communication, Intimacy, Finances, and abuse. That was interesting, Lynn and Chris were there so we were able to talk to them a bit too. On Monday we registered at Kohl's for Grandma Steingass :), we met with Dave about our ceremony music. We also went out to eat at Scotty's with Mona and Ron. It was fun to see them. I also got to take Rodney to the Y and he saw my gym where I spent so much of my time there. I also say Kellye, (who coached me in gymnastics), Shawn, and their three little girls. They are not so little any more though :( On Tuesday we had a meeting with Father about our ceremony. Then we met with the caterer about food and decorations, and then I had a trial run on my hair. That was a fun appointment to have! This weekend is Rodney's first Reserve weekend so I have been working on invitations. I am hoping they are ready to be mailed by April 15, so look for them after that. My mom was a lot of help while we were home even though I gave her a hard time!

Mary's Wedding
My first friend, of my hometown friends, was married this past weekend. It was very exciting to see all my friends in one place at one time. It took awhile to get home though because Defiance, Chicago, and Detroit all got snow. I had to fly to Chicago to Detroit, but thankfully I made it home. It took us a long time to get there though. Rodney didn't come for the wedding because we are going there again this weekend. This weekend we have an Engaged Couple's retreat to attend. It is an all day thing, but our friends Lynn and Chris will be there so that will be fun! We also meet with the caterer and Fr. Todd again. I included some pictures of the wedding. The first picture is of Meghan, Austin, and Kurt. Meghan is my best friend and those are her brothers. Second pictures is of Meghan and I. Then my mom and dad. Then me, Meghan, Lynn, Ashley, and Erin. Then the last pictures is Meghan, me, Lynn, Mary, Ashley, and Erin. Ashley and Meghan are both in my wedding.

California

Whee! It has been a crazy couple of weeks. Rodney and I went and visited all of his family in California a couple of weeks ago. Rodney says "I went to California, yay!" It was fun while we were there but it was a very short visit. Wedding-wise we have bought out wedding bands, they are really cute/cool. We went to Jared, I have never been there. They offered us a bottle of water and cleaned my ring for free. It was very exciting. Today we wrote everybody down into one list, so we have a better idea of who all we are inviting. Friday night I went to Larry's Man shower (I teach with him, and he is getting married in March), but it made me excited to start getting into all of our celebrating. I can't wait!!!

Hotels
Rodney says "What up". We have blocked off some hotel rooms for the wedding. It is at the Holiday Inn Express in Defiance. I think you get a discounted rate if you tell them it is for our wedding. We also put down our deposit on our Honeymoon which was very exciting. Jamaica here we come! We also went and picked out the guys' tuxes; they are going to look very nice. Besides that it has been kinda calm. We received our invitations already so we have to start getting those ready, we also just received our Engagement pictures. They look really good. Now we have to go find some frames to put them in! We are heading to California this weekend to see Rodney's family so that should be alot of fun.

Airports

I heard some people wanting to start getting information for airports. There are a couple that are near us. The city the wedding is taking place in is Defiance, Ohio. The closest airport is Ft. Wayne, Indiana. I normally can't find cheap flights in to there, but it is only 45 minutes away from Defiance. Another airport is Toledo, Ohio. It is about 1 hour away from Defiance. Then Detroit, Michigan is about 2 to 2.5 hours away from Defiance. That is where I normally fly into because it is the cheapest. I will get directions from those three airports to the hotels as soon as the hotels are figured out. That will be coming soon. Let me know if you have any questions about them!

Invitations

Today we officially ordered the invitations. I was so worried that something would be spell wronged. We checked and checked multiple times. So if something is wrong oh well :) Tomorrow we are going to look for Tuxes, because I have the day off of school! Rodney is officially living here for good, so we should be able to get more work done.
Also I should be able to tell you what hotels we have reserved in Defiance. Then everybody can start saving rooms! In snowed in Cary yesterday which was very exciting!!

Busy Saturday

Today we went and registered at JCPenny's. We wanted to register at Sears, but their machine was broken. JCPenny did not have a lot of kitchen items at our store, but we went online and were able to add more items that way. We also went and added more items at Bed, Bath, and Beyond. That place is amazing. The lady we registered with remembered us and was so friendly. Everybody is so nice at our store, it is a lot of fun. Rodney and I had fun using the scanner while we were there. We also went and talked to Bob, our travel agent, and looked more into our Honeymoon. We know we are going to Jamaica, but are still getting rooms figured out. P.S. that's not the mixer we want, it is the only one I could find to put a picture up of :)
