Getting Close
Hi everyone. As we get closer to the wedding I wanted to create a post with some more information, especially for our out of town guests. As you know, the wedding is on the 4th. The rehearsal is on the 3rd at 5pm for everyone who is in the wedding party, then we will have a rehersal dinner after. If you are coming from out of town, bring picnick appropriate clothes for the 5th. Carissa and I are leaving for the honeymoon on the 7th, so if you are staying after the 4th then we can hang out. Carissa is already in Defiance, I will be there on the 30th. As of now the earliest guests from out of town are coming on the 1st. We don't have any firm plans until the 3rd, so feel free to hang out with us, or find stuff to do. By the way, the information in this post is coming from questions people have asked me. I'm trying to answer all the questions I can remember, that's why I'm kind of all over the place. Someone asked me about a bachelor party. I have none planned, but I love poker, so if anyone wants to get a game together, let me know. That includes the wedding day. Well, Carissa might not want me playing poker all night on the the 4th, so we better not schedule a game on the 4th. That's all I can think of. If you don't have a hotel yet, we blocked off rooms at the Holiday Inn Express. You can find a cheaper room on the internet but the holiday inn is nice and includes a breakfast. If you don't have a plane ticket yet, you might want to get on that. If you haven't RSVPed yet, don't worry, there's another 50 or so just like you. But really, if you are coming and for some reason forgot to RSVP, please call and let us know. I'm pretty sure everyone who didn't RSVP is not coming, but you never know. If you have any questions at all, call or e-mail. I check my e-mail a few times a day, rodmetoyer@hotmail.com. We are very excited and look forward to seeing everyone. Except Tony. Who invited that guy.

Lynn and Chris's Wedding
This past weekend Rodney and I made the drive to Defiance. It was Lynn and Chris's wedding. I have been friends with Lynn since middle school, and Chris is my cousin. It was a lot of fun, and their wedding was in the same church ours will be in. That made our wedding seem so much closer!!! The reception was a lot of fun with family members and friends. The first picture is of all of my family that was there. We had Rodney come down because he was almost family. The second picture is of Rodney and I, and the third picture is off Lynn, me, and Ashley. Tomorrow is exactly two weeks until the wedding. We moved into our house yesterday and are still unpacking. I am hoping to get all unpacked tomorrow so we can take some pictures to post on here. On Saturday Amy and I drive to Defiance to start wedding festivities. I am so excited!!! We can't wait to see everybody!!
Bachelorette and Lynn's Wedding
On June 7, Amy, one of the Maids of Honor, threw me my Bachelorette Party. It was a lot of fun, we went to the pool, went to dinner at the Ale House, and then came back for cake and ice cream. It was exactly the Bachelorette party that I wanted. It was during Raleigh's giant heat wave so the pool felt great! Thanks for the fun girls!!

Student's Wedding Shower
My students at school surprised me with a wedding shower. The teachers I teach with and some of the parents helped plan it and get it all together for them. I was very surprised by it, and the best part was they were able to contact Rodney and have him show up. I was very surprised by that. It was fun to be able to introduce Rodney to my students and my students to Rodney. I was actually thrown off by my students earlier in the day. The Pirates team had pizza for lunch and the Shark team had cake for their students. My students did not whine at all about not having food. I was so impressed by them. Then come to find out that they did not whine because they knew they were getting food later on, but it was still very impressive. We had cake, cookies, chips, and some drinks. The students all pitched in some money and bought us and ice cream maker, a cookie press, a clock, and some colanders. They also all donated some of their favorite recipes and made a recipe book for us. They also all signed an apron for me. It was very cute of them. Sorry I couldn't post more pics, but I can't post any of my students. On a different note, Rodney brought home boxes for us to start packing and move to our house. Seaborn, our kitty, decided that they were her boxes. We have a giant box fort in our living room just for her. Rodney had been doing a lot of painting at our new house. I haven't been able to go over much because of school. My last day is Thursday so hopefully I can update some pictures after that.

wedding shower
I just had my first wedding shower. It was thrown by my friends at school. Thank you everybody!!! It was a lot of fun. I posted some pictures of the shower. Rodney was not able to come because it was one of his reserve weekends. We kept most of the presents wrapped up so he was able to unwrap them too. We have been getting a lot of RSVP cards back and that has been exciting. It is always fun to get mail besides bills and junk mail. My mom surprised me and sent me a present. It was a photo album but it was a like a pop-up book. I thought that was very cool. It is from this store called Pink Alli, which I just love!! Once again thank you everybody for my fun shower!

House
Here are pictures of our house. Rodney went today for our home inspection and it passed. Yay!! The first image is the living room looking towards the front door. The second image is the garage. There were already shelves built into the garage that Rodney was a fan of. The third image is the front of the house. The fourth image is our side yard looking out towards the cemetery. If you look close you can see the giant Jesus statue. I thought that was a cool thing to greet Jesus every time we come home. We also live next to a church. The fifth image is the master bathroom (looking into a mirror). The sixth image is the master bedroom. The seventh image is the other bathroom upstairs. The next image is the half bath that is downstairs. And the ninth image is the living room. We don't have pictures of the kitchen but it is off of the living room, and the first floor is very open. The kitchen also has one of those fridges that has two a long freezer on one side and the other side is the fridge. I hope this all makes sense!! We are closing on May 30, so it will be ours after that.

Welcome!
Rodney and I would like to welcome everybody that is joining us after receiving their invitations. We will add more to the blog the closer we get to the wedding. The pictures I included are of Rodney and goUSA, my parent's dog, Rodney and I at a wedding reception, and Carrie, Baylor, and I. Carrie used to teach with me, but she had to move to Tennessee. Baylor is her cute little boy! We will be in Ohio from about June 25-July 20. If you are sending presents then please send them to my parent's house 17ow Terrawenda Defiance, Oh 43512. This way we do not have to worry about items sitting at our apartment for a while and might get lost or stolen. We wanted to remind everybody that the hotel we have reserved rooms at is the Holiday Inn. Rodney also wanted me to tell people to not make reservations with Skybus.

Hey everybody! We have done a lot wedding-wise so I thought I would update everybody. This past weekend we went to Defiance. We flew Skybus, which was interesting, and I wasn't surprised to read today that they filed bankruptcy. On Sunday we did an Engaged Couples Retreat at church. We talked about spirituality, Communication, Intimacy, Finances, and abuse. That was interesting, Lynn and Chris were there so we were able to talk to them a bit too. On Monday we registered at Kohl's for Grandma Steingass :), we met with Dave about our ceremony music. We also went out to eat at Scotty's with Mona and Ron. It was fun to see them. I also got to take Rodney to the Y and he saw my gym where I spent so much of my time there. I also say Kellye, (who coached me in gymnastics), Shawn, and their three little girls. They are not so little any more though :( On Tuesday we had a meeting with Father about our ceremony. Then we met with the caterer about food and decorations, and then I had a trial run on my hair. That was a fun appointment to have! This weekend is Rodney's first Reserve weekend so I have been working on invitations. I am hoping they are ready to be mailed by April 15, so look for them after that. My mom was a lot of help while we were home even though I gave her a hard time!

Mary's Wedding
My first friend, of my hometown friends, was married this past weekend. It was very exciting to see all my friends in one place at one time. It took awhile to get home though because Defiance, Chicago, and Detroit all got snow. I had to fly to Chicago to Detroit, but thankfully I made it home. It took us a long time to get there though. Rodney didn't come for the wedding because we are going there again this weekend. This weekend we have an Engaged Couple's retreat to attend. It is an all day thing, but our friends Lynn and Chris will be there so that will be fun! We also meet with the caterer and Fr. Todd again. I included some pictures of the wedding. The first picture is of Meghan, Austin, and Kurt. Meghan is my best friend and those are her brothers. Second pictures is of Meghan and I. Then my mom and dad. Then me, Meghan, Lynn, Ashley, and Erin. Then the last pictures is Meghan, me, Lynn, Mary, Ashley, and Erin. Ashley and Meghan are both in my wedding.
